Sausalito is a charming little town in California that could easily be mistaken for a seaside Mediterranean village. Even though it is located just across the bay from San Francisco, the vibe is completely different. Sausalito is a great place to come for a relaxing day of art galleries, food, and wine. How to Get There
There are a few ways to get to Sausalito from SF depending on how active you want to be. If you have a vehicle you can drive admiring the views along the coast. There are a few Golden Gate viewpoints to stop at on your way down the hill.
If you don`t have a car; a ferry departs every few hours from The Ferry Building in San Francisco. This is a great option if you are staying in the city with no other form of transportation. On a clear day you can enjoy views of the entire bay. Check departure times and rates HERE.
In my opinion; the best option is to bike from SF to Sausalito. There are several rental shops in the city, giving you a chance to bike across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Because of the steep hill down into the town of Sausalito; many people will bike here and take the ferry back.
Once you arrive, you will want to spend forever in this stunning little place. Whether you plan to stay for a few hours or a few days; Sausalito will keep you occupied and relaxed the entire time!
Browse Around the Shops Along the Water
