Bali has become a booming travel destination over the past few years and there`s no question why! Adventure options are endless on this wonderful island including waterfalls, volcanoes, surfing and awe inspiring temples. Bali is gorgeous, full of culture and has something for everyone. Keep reading for our list of the most beautiful places in Bali and why you`ll love them too!
The Top of Mount Batur at Sunrise
A Trek Up Mount Batur is one of the most popular and spectacular things to do in Bali. Waking up at 3 am for the challenging hike is 100% worth it once that sun starts to come up. Expect to pay around 924,000 IDR ($70 USD) which includes transportation, a guide and lunch. Trust me; you do not want to miss these views from one of the most beautiful places in Bali!

The Campuhan Ridge Walk
This walk is easy, beautiful and free making it one of our favorite places in Bali! The ridge walk starts behind the Warwick IBAH villas and spa in Ubud which you can easily walk to from the main streets. The path is about 2 kilometers each way full of jaw dropping jungle views. There is literally zero shade.. so plan to go early in the morning or later in the evening to beat the heat.

Looking Through The “Gateway to Heaven”
The “Gateway to Heaven” at Pura Lempuyang Temple is absolutely breathtaking! It was not only my favorite temple while backpacking Bali; but in all of Southeast Asia. On a clear day you can see Mount Agung in the background and on a cloudy day its as if you`re standing right in the clouds.
Entrance to this temple is by donation and you will receive map and some information about the history. There are 7 temples along a path to the top which includes over 2000 stairs. If you plan to climb all the way to the top make sure to go early in the morning so you’re not hiking in the heat of the day. The bottom two temples are the biggest and most impressive; so even if you don’t want to do all the stairs it’s well worth a visit!

The Infinity Pool at The Munduk Moding Plantation
This infinity pool is in so many blogs we had no choice but to check it out! The Munduk Moding Plantation is a spectacular hotel with private yurts, great views, and if you book in advance you won`t spend a fortune (around $200 USD/night). If you wait too long to book or don’t have the budget to stay; you can always stop in for lunch to enjoy the pool view and some fantastic food.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple
This gorgeous temple is a must visit destination in Bali. The view of the structure over the water is stunning and the gardens are very unique. It`s about an hour and a half north of Ubud on your way to the Munduk Moding Plantation. Entrance is only a few dollars and if you`re lucky enough to go on a clear day you`ll be absolutely blown away.

Dawn In Lovina
Dawn on the water in Lovina is a truly incredible thing to do on your journey through Bali! Numerous hotels and companies in town offer this sunrise boat tour. You get up around 5 am and head down to the water. The resident dolphins love to jump, do flips and play around the boats. You can easily get this tour for $80,000-100,000 IDR ($6-$7.50 USD) per person by shopping around.

The Tegallalang Rice Terraces
The Tegallalang Rice Terraces are arguably one of the most famous places in Bali and they do not disappoint! You can either take a tour from Ubud of visit them on your own. We visited as a part of a downhill bike tour with Green Bike Tours which I would highly recommend! The morning began at the rice terraces followed by a coffee plantation visit. We took our time and sampled many types of coffee and tea while enjoying some fantastic pancakes.
Next we biked to a local family’s home to learn about their way of life. Part of the fee you pay for the tour goes to this family which we loved! Even though there was a language barrier they were very inviting and extremely sweet. Once leaving their home we spent the morning biking through small villages and incredibly scenic rice fields. At the end of the tour we arrived at a beautiful hotel with a view for a delicious meal! The price is IDR 500,000 ($37 USD) per person and that includes transportation and lunch.

Tukad Cepung Waterfall
Located 30 kilometers north west of Ubud; Tukad Cepung is one of the most unique waterfalls in all of Bali. The river can be viewed from the top of the cliff but to see the falls you will need to trek down a few hundred steps into the cave. Your effort on the steps will reward you with less tourists than many of the other surrounding waterfalls! Try to go early on a sunny day to enjoy the light beaming in.

The Gili Islands
These 3 small islands are located east of Bali near its neighboring island; Lombok. It is possible to take a day trip from Bali but if you have the time you`re going to want to spend a night or two in paradise. Gili Trawangan is the most popular and known for nightlife, diving, and beaches.
Gili Meno and Gili Air are the place to be if you`re craving a quiet and secluded experience. Once on the islands; spend a few days diving, snorkeling, enjoying the food and experiencing the nightlife. You can even kayak or SUP in between all three islands if you’re feeling adventurous!
