Antigua is the former capital of Guatemala and one of my favourite places in the entire country! The colourful old buildings, views of the surrounding volcanoes and the diverse culinary scene make this city unlike anywhere you`ve ever been. Keep reading for a list of my favourite restaurants in Antigua and why you`ll love them too!
Caoba Farms Restaurant
About a 10-15 minute walk from downtown; the farmers market is home to one of the very best restaurants in Antigua! They grow many of their own ingredients offering fresh and delicious options to suit any diet. Each night of the week boasts a different special or event and on Sundays you can enjoy the shops and live music of the farmers market while enjoying the drool worthy food. (vegan, gluten free & low carb options)

Luna De Miel
Luna De Miel has the most amazing salads and crepes you will find in the city. Between the tasty fresh entrees and the authentic ambiance; this is a can’t miss stop during your time in Antigua. Hint: make sure to get here early because they are lined up out the door after 6 every night.

Samasara
Samasara is a vegan cafe with heavenly food and dessert options. Everything on the menu is sure to impress vegans and meat lovers alike. Seriously… just try it!

7a Norte Pizza
A good pizza place is essential when travelling, isn’t it? Lucky for all of us; this restaurant is absolutely killer! The appetizers, pizza and drinks were outstanding and we could have stayed on their adorable rooftop patio all night. (vegan, gluten-free & low carb options)

The Bagel Barn
These homemade bagels were some of the most fantastic bagels I’ve ever had (and keep in mind… we have an unlimited supply of Montreal-style bagels up here in Canada 😉 ). The bagel barn is a great place to stop in for brunch before doing some shopping and exploring Antigua!

Pachamama Chocolate
Okay so this one isn’t technically a restaurant butttt it was the single most amazing chocolate shop in all of Guatemala. They sell handmade flavoured chocolates, tea and coffee with a variety of different packaging options. We legitimately hit this place up almost every day for an afternoon pick me up so just make sure to get yourself there… you can thank me later. (vegan & gluten-free options)

Hi Leigh,
Since the town is fairly small we actually walked everywhere but taxis are also very common.
