Kuala Lumpur is such a diverse city with everything from street food and little markets to incredible architecture and swanky rooftop pools. Whether you`re stopping in for a quick 3 day layover or have a whole week to explore; you will not run out of things to do. Keep reading for all of our favorite things to do in Kuala Lumpur.
Marvel at The Petronas Twin Towers
These magnificent towers are the unmistakable symbol of Kuala Lumpur and the tallest twin towers in the world. Take in the views from the fountains out front or from the sidewalk across the street. You can also see these towers from multiple viewpoints around the city.

Hang Above The City in The Skybox
The Skybox is located on the 86th floor of the KL tower. It costs 100 MYR ($25 USD) to go to the observation deck and it`s worth every penny! Soak up the 360 degree views of the city on the open aired deck around the building. Along this deck; there are two glass structures allowing you to see (and stand over) different areas of the city.

Take a Day Trip to The Cameron Highlands
Since KL is such a popular layover city; it is very common to be short on time while visiting. A trip to The Cameron Highlands is highly recommended if at all possible. We took a day tour from Kuala Lumpur with We Go With Anuar and the day was absolutely amazing!
He picked us up at 7:30 sharp and we drove to the Cameron Highlands with a few stops along the way. Some of our favorites included a waterfall, a pick your own strawberry farm, and The Mossy Forest. The BOH Tea Plantation was jaw dropping and Anaur was an excellent tour guide. If you`ve got a couple of extra days; check out his Kuala Selangor Fireflies Tour as well!

Do Some Shopping at The Central Market
The Central Market has been around for almost 100 years and is a great place to spend the afternoon. There are stalls offering anything you could imagine from clothing and accessories to electronics, household items and food. They also have a ton of great local restaurants in the area.

Have a Drink at The Heli Pad
This was highly recommended to us before visiting Kuala Lumpur so we had to check it out. The old helicopter pad turned rooftop bar offers incredible views of the city showcasing the KL Tower and the Peteronas Twin Towers. They are open from 6 PM to midnight and if you are lucky enough to have a clear night, the sunsets are incredible!
Watch the Sunrise in a Rooftop Infinity Pool
The famous rooftop infinity pool has blown up on Instagram and now a few other hotels offer a very similar setup. If you stay a night or two in The FACE Suites you can enjoy these luxurious views from the pool deck or the gym!

Visit The Perdana Botanical Gardens
These are the best botanical gardens that I have ever been to and they are entirely FREE! The mix of nature and architecture is beautiful and super unique. Plan to spend at least a few hours walking around and exploring the area.

Eat at The Night Market on Jalon Alor Street
Jalon Alor is everything I imagine when I think of Asian street food in the very best way. It is lined with little restaurants and food stalls buzzing with locals and tourists. It`s a great way to try out the local cuisine and you can`t really go wrong with any stall you choose!
We hope you enjoy your time in Kuala Lumpur. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comment below with your favorite things to do in this beautiful city!
