The Ice Bar
Have you ever wondered what vodka tastes like at -13 ºC? If you never have you should now! The Ice Bar at The Lizard Creek Lodge is probably the most unique place to have a drink in Fernie. Serving vodka at this temperature takes the edge off and allows you to appreciate the different flavours. You are provided with a parka and get your choice of 3 Premium ($20) or 3 Elite ($40) flavoured vodkas served in ice shot glasses.

Fernie Distillers
This unreal small-batch distillery is located downtown Fernie right across from the railroad tracks. Every bottle is filled and corked by hand and you can actually see into the processing area from the bar. Aside from the trendy lounge and the charming patio area, the drink menu is killer! I kid you not, these were some of the best drinks we have ever had. Anywhere.

The Cirque Restaurant
This is one of my favourite places to curl up with a hot chocolate and Bailey’s largely due to the stunning rock fireplace. The Cirque Restaurant is also located in Lizard Creek Lodge, so you could stop in for a drink before or after your vodka tasting if you’re up for a change of pace.

The Blue Toque
The Blue Toque Gastro Diner is a go-to breakfast restaurant in Fernie. The best part? The mimosa flights! Choose any 4 mimosas or mimosa cocktails to taste in a sample flight while you enjoy your breakfast? They are open daily from 9 am to 2:30 pm serving breakfast and lunch.

Fernie Brewing Co.
The Fernie Brewing Company has 12 fresh brews on tap at one time including Year-Round, Seasonal and Limited Release brews. They have a great tasting room and patio where you can enjoy a flight of 4 or a 12 oz glass. Open 7 days a week, this is a great place to unwind and relax for a few hours.

The Rusty Edge
The Rusty Edge is a local favorite when it comes to having a beer during or after a day of skiing. Located right on the hill, this rustic pub is perfect for a laid back drink and a burger in the summer or winter months.
The Patio at Bear Lodge
Bear Lodge is one of two restaurants at Island Lake Lodge just outside of Fernie. The food is outstanding and the views from the patio are excellent. Open daily from 11 am to 8 pm, it’s a great place to grab some food and a refreshing drink after a day on the hiking trails.

The Beanpod
The Beanpod is a family-run chocolate factory unlike any I have ever visited. The chocolate is made in-house from imported cocoa beans and it is so damn good! Along with the many creative flavours of chocolate bars and truffles, the hot chocolate and the Mocha are to die for! To top it all off they have a large variety of dairy-free chocolate and dairy-free drinks. Just heavenly?
