As mentioned earlier, this hotel in Banff offers 3 different lodging options. Lodge Rooms, Premier Rooms, and Buffalo Suites. Each one can be booked with 1 king or 2 queen-sized beds. For those of us who love to bring our four-legged friends along, I have great news! There are a limited amount of pet-friendly rooms in each category.

The guest rooms at Buffalo Mountain Lodge feature wood burning stone fireplaces and private baths. Room amenities include cozy feather duvets and pillows, telephones, LCD televisions, Blu-Ray players, in-room coffee makers, clock radios, irons/ironing boards and hair dryers. Many of the rooms have balconies or patios.
-Buffalo Mountain Lodge
We stayed in a Buffalo Suite this January and were completely dazzled! Newly renovated in 2020, these rooms are incredibly clean, spacious, and luxurious. We were able to bring our pup, Bailey, and had more than enough space to make ourselves at home.

What do you get when you combine large windows, an extravagant stone fireplace, and a stylish living area with a welcome bottle of wine, a scrumptious charcuterie board, and a plush king sized bed? Absolute heaven.
Even with all of those huge features, Buffalo Mountain Lodge hasn’t forgotten about the small details. They offer a coffee bar, elegant robes, and a fully stocked kitchenette giving you options to cook and/or reheat your meals. They even set up a lovely welcome card and a package of dog treats for Bailey upon our arrival.

From the perfectly decorated living area to the large, bright bathroom, we loved everything about this suite. If you are looking for a relaxing way to treat yourself, we would highly recommend booking one of these rooms.

The Prow
The Prow—Buffalo Mountain Lodge’s newly renovated restaurant and lounge—is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. We ate here for every meal during our stay and the food was to die for! The patio wasn’t open during the winter, but we hear it’s amazing in warmer weather. PLUS, it’s pet friendly.

The concept is to bring guests amazing local cuisine in an approachable way, and catering to all dietary needs. Our menu includes mountain-themed tapas, game meats, excellent shareables, and pastas made proudly in house. A culture of creative cocktails and local brews is boasted at The Prow.

The breakfast menu offers traditional options like pancakes, french toast, and omelettes. As well as more adventurous menu items like a Smoked Steelhead Trout Benny, a CRMR Game Hash, and my personal favourite, Shaksuka.

Lunch boasts a combination of soups, salads, charcuterie, seafood, burgers, pasta, and flatbreads. Dinner offers similar options with the addition of scrumptious menu items like Elk Striploin Medallions, Bison Shortrib, and Roasted Free Run Chicken Breast.
They are excellent when it comes to dietary restrictions and have some really tasty vegan and gluten-free options. One night, the chef even offered to make me a custom dairy-free pasta dish so that I could try their homemade pasta. It was divine.
