Located on Tunnel Mountain in the town of Banff, Buffalo Mountain Lodge is in an excellent spot for every type of traveller. They offer several fantastic amenities and staff members who go above and beyond for their guests.
Surrounded by trails, scenic viewpoints, and an array of wildlife, this beautiful hotel in Banff completely immerses you in nature. You might even be lucky enough to see deer and elk grazing outside your window!
We stayed in a Buffalo Suite and were completely dazzled! Newly renovated in 2020, these rooms are clean, spacious, and luxurious. We were able to bring our pup, Bailey, and had more than enough space to make ourselves at home.
Amenities include a stunning outdoor hot tub, a fitness centre, fireplaces in every room and a tasty restaurant and lounge. They also offer an inviting main lodge with a massive fireplace where there is ample space to curl up with a good book or enjoy a hot beverage.

Lake Louise is a bucket list destination in Canada and somewhere you do not want to miss in Banff. Because there are only a handful of lodging options, it is a luxury on its own to stay overnight in the village. The location, however, was not the only thing that left us impressed.

Castle Mountain Chalets
Best Features: rustic + cozy chalets, great for larger groups, fireplaces in every room + fantastic views from your doorstep
Castle Mountain Chalets is located about halfway down the Bow Valley Parkway at Castle Junction. It’s in an extremely convenient spot with quick access to the parkway, Highway 1, and several hiking, biking, and cross-country ski trails.
Open year-round, these cabins boast wood-burning fireplaces, huge windows, and spacious floor plans. Not to mention incredible views of Castle Mountain and numerous hiking trails right at your doorstep. The deluxe one-bedroom chalet won our hearts immediately with its lofted ceilings, multiple skylights, and massive jetted tub.
We cooked meals in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed them beside the spectacular stone fireplace. It was heavenly. In the evenings, we would head to the communal fire pit to roast marshmallows and gaze at the clear, starry sky.
